Q. It’s my first massage, what can I expect?
A. When you arrive for your appointment you will be asked to complete a short health history form,
then your therapist will show you to the treatment room where you will talk with your therapist about
your needs or goals for your massage session. Your therapist will leave the room so you can undress
to your comfort level and lay on the massage table under sheet/blankets. Your therapist will knock to
be sure are ready before entering the room and beginning the massage session. When your session
is over your therapist will leave the room so you have privacy while dressing. When you are ready
you will meet your therapist in the reception area.
Q. Do I have to get completely naked for my massage?
A. No, you should undress to your level of comfort. Please know that you will be covered at all times, except the area of the being massaged so you needn’t worry about being exposed.
Q. Do you do manicure/pedicures?
A. No we do not offer any nail treatments at this time.
Q. Do you have one of those "special pregnancy tables?"
A. For safety reasons we choose to not use pregnancy tables. There is not consistent medical agreement whether these tables, which have a hole where the belly fits while lying face down, are safe as they can still cause some pressure to the abdomen and/or may cause stretching of the uterine ligaments. Instead we ask our pregnant clients to lie on their side while we massage their back.
Q. Do you accept credit cards?
A. Yes we accept MasterCard, Visa, and Discover as well as cash or check.
Q. Do you offer chair massage?
A. Yes! Please call for details.
Q. Why am always I told to drink water after a massage?
A. During massage metabolic by-products, such as lactic acid, are released from muscle tissue into the circulatory system for removal. Drinking water helps flush these waste products from your body so they don't re-accumulate and cause soreness, stiffness, or headaches.
