What Is Raindrop Technique?

Raindrop Technique derives its name from
the dripping of therapeutic-grade essential oils onto the body, like rain. This was inspired
by the Lakota belief that raindrops falling from a height may purify and cleanse the body and spirit.

Raindrop Technique is an aroma therapy massage treatment in
which therapeutic-grade essential oils are gently massaged into
the feet and back. Because the essential oils easily penetrate the
skin and muscles, the technique works on deep levels of the
body without requiring hard pressure or force. Following the
application of the oils, heat packs are placed on the back to
allow for absorption of the oils into the body. The Raindrop Technique
is a truly remarkable experience that relaxes, rejuvenates, and
regenerates the body, mind, and soul. The session
is a total relaxation package where all of your senses
will be stimulated.

Most people find Raindrop Technique to be relaxing
and soothing, as well as having positive effects on
their general health, including physical and
emotional well being.

What Is Massage Cupping?

Massage cupping is a modified version of cupping
therapy, which is commonly used in traditional
Chinese medicine.

Massage cupping uses suction and negative pressure to release rigid muscle tissue by loosening adhesions
and lifting connective tissue. The result gives the effect of a deep-tissue massage with much
less discomfort. Massage cupping also increases blood flow to stagnant muscles and skin.

Traditional massage cups are small glass jars that use heat to create suction, at Massage Professionals we
use manual vacuum cups, which use a pump to create suction. If you choose to add massage cupping to your
massage session the therapist will begin your massage in the usual way. After massaging the area to be cupped
the cup will be placed on the body and a manual pump will be activated to remove air and create suction. The
therapist will then glide the cup over the muscles working more intensely on areas that are more rigid; the area
will again be massaged manually after the cup is removed.

The most common areas for massage cupping is on the shoulders
and back but almost any area can benefit from massage cupping.

Skin will turn red with massage cupping as a result of
increased circulation in the areas cupped. This increase in
circulation brings nourishment to the area and allows for
toxins to be carried away.

It is common for clients to feel deep warmth during
a cupping session as well as a tingling sensation
after the treatment has ended.

Massage cupping is also very relaxing as the action
on the nervous system can be sedating. Massage
cupping may be added to your massage session at
no extra charge. Ask your therapist if massage
cupping is right for you.
